Occasionally life gets in the way! Sometimes a student has to miss some classes for family events, work, illness or injury, a new baby, a wedding, you name it! And it can be hard to come back to class because you feel like you've lost some (or most) of your material, and your endurance.
We make it easy for you to get back into shape and back into class without too much damage to your ego. It's as easy as 1, 2, 3...4!
1. Go to lower belt classes first- use the schedule and attend as many of the beginner classes as you can for as long as it takes for you to feel comfortable with that material again. Tell the teacher when you arrive that it's your first class in a long while or email Master Sheryl ahead of time and she'll let them know.
2. Attend the "Back in Action" Class (pictured below), a mixed level class headed by 3rd degree black belt Rob Stevens, where you work on what you want to work on with his help. This is also a great class for review when you are getting ready for a rank advancement test.
3. Finally, as you become more adept and more confident, start adding in the brown belt classes, (if you were a brown belt or higher) etc....
4. Email Master Sheryl! She's come back to class after two long absences (baby leave) and gone on to get her 5th degree black belt. She will happily talk you through it!
